What’s the most sensible thing you’ve heard someone say?
That the only thing in life we can control is the way we respond to what happens in life.

What was your parents’ greatest sacrifice?
My parents have done so much to provide for my sister and me. They both worked hard to help me take advantage of every opportunity, and it was always important to them that I had the freedom to just “be a kid.”

What tests your patience?
Bad hold music on phone calls.

If you could create a fantasy land what is one thing it would have in it?
Teleportation! I frequently think about how amazing it would be if we could all just teleport from place to place. It would be so easy to travel around the world, and we could visit family who live far away more often. Plus, no traffic!

If you could talk to one species of animal, what would it be?
I would have to pick cats, because it would be pretty cool to be able to communicate with my cat (although I’m still not sure I could reason with her).

What’s the most radical thing you’ve done appearance-wise?
Probably the colors that I have dyed my hair — I’ve gone from ombré, to rose gold/pink, to platinum blonde, and back again.

What ice cream flavor do you hate?
Is it possible to hate ice cream? I don’t think I would turn down any ice cream flavor. However, I’m not a coffee drinker (we do exist!), so coffee-flavored ice cream would be my least favorite.

What celebrity crib would you love to take a tour of?
Beyoncé — I bet her house is pretty awesome!

If you were to personalize your car’s license plate, what would it say?
I think I would have to give a shout out to my Texas Longhorns and alma mater and go with “HOOKEM!”

What’s the most sensible thing you’ve heard someone say?
Everything is connected.

What was your parents’ greatest sacrifice?
Yikes. This is a heavy one. I guess I’ll go with the years of sleepless nights while I was up having asthma attacks and hallucinating.

What tests your patience?
Traffic.

If you could create a fantasy land what is one thing it would have in it?
An object that shows the entirety of time from beginning to end. So I guess pretty much a time machine.

If you could talk to one species of animal, what would it be?
Octopi. I have a strong feeling they know something that we don’t.

What is the longest road trip you’ve been on?
I drove from California to Austin when I moved here. Not that far but the furthest I’ve gone.

Best advice you’ve ever been given?
Pick one thing and try to get really good at it.

Do you have a propensity for anything?
Being late to work.

What’s your favorite kind of puzzle?
Reality.

What’s one thing you could do a little better every day?
Be a less horrible person in traffic.

If a reality show were based on your life, what would it be called?
Usually Kind of Boring and Sometimes Really Weird.
